GIS Consultant

 


Description

EI Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced GIS Consultant to implement enterprise GIS solutions for our public and private sector customers.  Under the direction of the GIS Director, this position applies technical expertise and project management experience to GIS implementation projects to ensure the on-time and on budget delivery of GIS products and services.

The responsibilities include:

§          Collecting and interpreting functional users’ requirements.  Proposing detailed requirements and driving successful outcomes through the implementation of client-focused solutions

§          Follow best practices in provisioning, implementation, and testing of enterprise GIS solutions, including IT security

§          Providing hands-on systems implementation support including systems architecture design, database design, and application design and deployment.  Development duties include the analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, installation, and support of customized GIS applications for data maintenance, and geospatial analysis and modeling

§          Integrating GIS programs with non-spatial programs for asset, infrastructure, and financial management, etc. in government and the utilities industries

§          Designing and implementing graphical user interfaces and analytical tools

§          Participating in formal presentations to clients

§          Providing user and administrator training

Individual will be an essential team member involved in business development tasks including proposal preparation and cost estimation.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or information technology is required. MS is preferred

This position requires a minimum of five years supporting and developing customized GIS applications using ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Server Mobile, ArcGIS, ArcSDE, and ArcPad.  Programming experience with GeoMedia or G/Technology is a plus. Installation and tune up of ArcSDE is a requirement of this postion.

Knowledge of third-party programs from Hansen, Maximo, and others.  Requires integration experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Oracle, and DB2 database management systems

Experience working with private and public sector clients in defining and documenting application requirements is a must

Experience training end users to make effective use of GIS applications is a plus.

Requires strong database design and development skills in Oracle and SQL Server environments.  Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

C++, C, Visio, SQL experience preferred

Requires excellent knowledge of GIS data types including raster data

A highly motivated individual with the ability to self-start, prioritize, and multi-task.  Ability to work alone and as part of an integrated client-consultant team is required

Requires knowledge of SDLC in iterative and waterfall environments.  PMP is preferred / required

Data Conversion Manager

 


Description

EI Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced GIS Data Conversion Manager to manage data conversion projects for government and utilities clients.  Under the direction of the GIS Director, this position applies technical expertise and project management experience to ensure the on-time and on budget delivery of complete and high-quality data to clients.

The responsibilities include:

Coordinating, supervising, and managing day-to-day activities of onshore and offshore data conversion specialists

Managing multiple data conversion projects, adhering to tight project budgets and schedules, and ensure high-quality data. 

Communicating and interacting with data conversion and QC specialists, and clients on data conversion issues

Developing and implementing data conversion plans, cost controls, quality assurance plans and specifications for cadastral, transportation, and utilities (water, wastewater, electric, and telco) conversion projects

Developing and implementing priorities, goals, and objectives for GIS data development using best-in-industry practices

Supervising and evaluating performance of two to ten data conversion specialists, and reviewing completed technical work products.

Monitoring and documenting data production performance and providing on-going feedback to GIS Director regarding data production results

Evaluating performance of data conversion specialists, and developing and implementing training and development plans

Negotiating resolution of issues between data development teams and clients

Performing other related duties as assigned or requested by the GIS Director

Individual will be an essential team member involved in business development tasks including proposal preparation, cost estimations, training, and client presentations.

 

Requirements
This position requires a minimum of seven years of GIS experience including ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server and AutoCAD including excellent knowledge of spatial data development and management processes in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.  Requires knowledge of various vector data types, as well as raster data types in compressed and uncompressed formats 

Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information technology or geography is required. A master’s degree is preferred.

Requires recent supervision and mentoring of GIS specialists plus at least four years of data conversion and project management experience.  PMP is preferred. 

This position requires strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communications skills.  Good public speaking ability; strong project financial management skills; Experience with database design and development is preferred; Experience working with government agencies and utilities industry clients is required.
